· REASON FOR MY CHOICE OF VIDEO.
Nowadays in my 6th grade class we are learning about food, healthy and unhealthy habits. In relation to that, I find it so interesting to introduce his new resource in order to make them aware of the importance of developing healthy habits in their daily life.
· OBJECTIVES OF THE LESSON:
-To review topic’s vocabulary.
-To reflect about our daily habits.
-To realize about the unhealthy habits, we have in our life.
-To discover different ways of developing a healthy lifestyle.
· HOW DO WE ACHIEVE THE LEARNING OBJECTIVE?
First of all the students have reflect at home about their habits, also they have done a questionnaire to their relatives in order to have a general idea about the habits that people that surrounded them have.
Once they have investigated that, we had a debate in the classroom about all the information they have brought and the last part of the lesson was devoted to watch the video, answer the questions and establish general conclusions about our habits.
· HIGH POINTS IF THE EXPERIENCE
-They really enjoy investigating and asking their relatives.
-They get interested in the topic because it is close to their reality.
-The really enjoyed the resource because it makes them keep the attention on the video because of the questions that I create on it.
· WEAK POINTS OF THE EXPERIENCE
-The speed of the video was too fast for some of the students.
-Many of them do not care about healthy or unhealthy habits.
-The questions were too long to read along the video.
I am a little envious of your blog, soooo clear and well structured: stating your objectives, steps, results, and reflections for each activity… mine is a bit messy compared to yours… Congrats!! It is quite clear the way yo carried out all your class activities and even your reflections on high/low points are clear and honest, it’s a pity I haven’t been able to access your Edpuzzle link, I would have learnt a lot, in fact I have already learnt a lot just from your comments on how you planified and carried it out.
ResponderEliminarAs for TimeToast, your methodology has been quite different from mine: I work with secondary students and instead of working in class and do a unique TimeToast students and teacher together, I asked them to do it on their own and not in class but home; we worked for an hour in class in order to register all of them, learn how to use the tool and then choose a historical character, and then I left them work on their own. 14 years old students have more autonomy and I don’t have to keep an eye on them all the time, but for my 1ESO students your approach is definitely better.
Well, that was all, congratulations for your work and keep it going!!!
